Marva Lewis

Marva Lewis graduated from University of Louisville with Masters in Couple’s and Family Therapy, as well as Social Work. The majority of her training is in family systems therapy, which means she believes all things function as a system and are interconnected.

Her approach to therapy is person-centered, informal, and conversational. She believes it’s important to look at the whole picture, instead of solely placing the weight of the problem on one person. She also enjoys looking at Mind- Body- Spirit connection to promote overall well-being.

Her focus areas are: daily stressors, Depression, Anxiety, Life Adjustments, Relational concerns, etc. Some of the techniques I pull from frequently are: CBT, DBT, Distress Dis-tolerance (Mindfulness), IFS, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused, and motivational interviewing.
